True Classic Cruiser

The Vulcan 1700 Classic represents the latest evolution of Kawasaki's big bore V-Twin cruisers. An all new muscular engine utilises an overhead cam to help boost acceleration, while the increased displacement over the Vulcan 1600 Classic and the long stroke design help deliver both more torque and horsepower than its predecessor.

The Vulcan 1700 Classic is also fitted with Kawasaki's first fully electronic throttle valve system that provides better performance, throttle response and increased fuel mileage. A new six speed transmission with overdrive and carbon fibre drive belt deliver the power to the rear wheel while a new, more compact chassis and revised suspension provide light handling. It's all finished off with new bodywork and engine covers that further distinguish the Vulcan 1700 Classic as Kawasaki's latest big bore cruiser.

Features and Benefits

All New V-Twin Engine
The all new 1,700 cm3 liquid cooled, 4-stroke V-Twin long stroke engine based on that of the Vulcan 2000 delivers significant torque and power gains.

Electronic Throttle Valve System
Kawasaki's first fully electronic throttle valve (ETV) system delivers smooth, natural engine response making the Vulcan 1700 Nomad a pleasure to ride on the open road.

6 Speed Transmission
New 6 speed transmission includes an overdrive gear for relaxed highway cruising.

Efficient Belt drive
Smooth and efficient belt drive uses carbon fibre as a tensile material. Slimmer than a Kevlar belt, it reduces weight and contributes to the sleek cruiser appearance.

Stylish Instruments
The tank mounted imstrument console features a large face speedometer, LCD display and gear position indicator.

Comfortable Low Seat
The upright riding position contributes to rider comfort. Low seat height and shape make it easy to reach the ground with both feet.

Superior Kawasaki Craftmanship
Elegant bodywork and engine covers were designed by hand, resulting in shapes that are pleasing to both the eye and touch.

LED Tail Light
Used for the first time on a Kawasaki cruiser, the attractive LED tail light contributes to the Vulcan 1700 Nomad's sleek and attractive styling.
