Vulcan 1700 Nomad ABS

As part of Kawasaki’s latest evolution of big bore V-Twin cruisers, the Vulcan 1700 Nomad ABS shares the same 1700cm³ single overhead cam long stroke engine with the rest of the Vulcan 1700 line, but like the flagship Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS, it’s tuned to deliver maximum torque and power at a slightly higher rpm to reflect its intention for the open road.

Like the previous Nomad model, the 2013 model features hard saddlebags, passenger backrest and floorboards, large windscreen, fork mounted air deflectors, electronic cruise control and Kawasaki’s fully electronic throttle valve (ETV) system. Unlike the previous model, there’s now K-ACT ABS.

K-ACT ABS

K-ACT (Kawasaki Advanced Coactive-braking Technology) ABS complements rider active brake control with supplementary brake force enhancement for confident, highly effective braking in all situations.

Cruise control

Open highway cruising becomes even easier on the Voyager with convenient and easy to use electronic cruise control controlled from the right handle.

Multi function instrumentation

The tank mounted instrument console features a large face speedometer, LCD display and gear position indicator.

Comfortable ride for 2

The upright riding position, sculpted seat and floorboards offer all day riding comfort. Low seat height and seat shape make it easy to reach the ground. Passenger also gets a sculpted seat with backrest, arm support and floorboards to ensure a comfortable ride.

Efficient belt drive

Smooth and efficient belt drive uses carbon fibre as a tensile material. Slimmer than a Kevlar belt, it reduces weight and contributes to the sleek cruiser appearance.

V-Twin Power

The Vulcan Nomad has a 1,700 cm³ liquid cooled, 4-stroke V-Twin long stroke engine based on that of the Vulcan 2000 delivers significant torque and power gains.

LED tail light

The attractive LED tail light contributes to the Nomad’s sleek and attractive styling.

Huge saddlebags

Designed for easy packing, these 38 litre hard, colour matched saddlebags swallow an amazing amount of long distance gear. Kept secure with a sturdy lock, the new top opening design keeps gear inside the bags when they’re opened. The large frame mounted chrome saddlebag guards emphasize the cruiser image.
